Consider videos \u2013 specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/short-form-video-trends\">short-form videos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Short-form video is currently used by roughly 33% of marketers surveyed in our <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/hubspot-blog-marketing-industry-trends-report\">2023 Marketing Trends report<\/a>, making it the most popular trend among marketers. What\u2019s more, respondents also say it\u2019s the most effective and has the highest ROI.<\/p>\n<p>Next up, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/blog-strategy-guide\">blogs<\/a> \u2013 they\u2019re a great way to reach your audience, generate organic traffic on your site, and gain leads.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Identify your target audience and their pain points. Write blogs that address their pain points with at least one key takeaway,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/vanakorrapati\">Vana Korrapati<\/a>, a digital marketing strategist. \u201cThis helps you build a list of leads that could turn into sales.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>HubSpot owes a lot of its success to blogging, as it became a go-to source for marketers, customer service specialists, and sales leaders to get valuable industry insights.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Another one to consider is podcasting. Are you targeting Gen-Z? Then, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/brands-on-tiktok\">TikTok<\/a> should be a priority. Focusing on Millennials? Maybe your top three could be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hubspot.com\/facebook-marketing\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/instagram-for-business-guide\">Instagram<\/a>, and Twitter. Looking for gamers? Go on <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/consumers-favorite-social-channels\">Twitch or Discord<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To get started, consider using social media software like<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hubspot.com\/products\/marketing\/social-inbox\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hubspot.com\/products\/marketing\/social-inbox\">HubSpot&#8217;s Social Media Management Tools<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a> <\/p>\n<h3>4. Increase community engagement.<\/h3>\n<p>According to our <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/hubspot-blog-social-media-marketing-report\">2023 Social Media Trends report<\/a>, social media marketers are seeing now more than ever the importance of building an active social community. 90% of those surveyed say building an active online community is crucial to a successful social media strategy in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>This is reflected by data we collected in our Consumer Trends survey, in which 20% of social media users said they joined an online community within the last three months and 22% reported actively participating in one.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/courses.clevergirlfinance.com\/p\/worksheet-calculator-library\/\">Image Source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All this is to say that building a successful brand doesn\u2019t happen without <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/community-management-expert-advice\">building a community<\/a>. Doing so doesn\u2019t have to cost money.<\/p>\n<p>With limited funds, you can start online through <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/create-facebook-group\">Facebook Groups<\/a>, email lists, and Discord channels.<\/p>\n<p>It all depends on where your audience lives online. If you have a budget to work with, you can host or sponsor community events that bring you closer to your target audience.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a> <\/p>\n<h3>5. Offer free trials or free resources.<\/h3>\n<p>While this might seem like a corporate or financial decision, offering a free trial period is actually a great marketing tactic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFree trials are a great way to prove value to your customers while on a budget,\u201d says Apaydin. \u201cIf you believe in your product&#8217;s ability to sell itself to its customer, offering a free trial allows you to show them how you are solving their problem before they fully commit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apaydin shares that by using free trials as an incentive to share their information with you, you can capture the lead and continue to nurture them until they are ready to purchase.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You should let the customer have one foot into your product to experience how amazing it is. You&#8217;ll pamper them so much they&#8217;ll never want to leave,\u201d Korrapati said.<\/p>\n<p>Even if some don\u2019t buy into your premium product, Korrapati adds, you\u2019ll gain valuable feedback. Plus, you\u2019ll discover pain points you didn\u2019t know before \u2013 without spending additional money on market research.<\/p>\n<p>A trial isn\u2019t the only thing you can offer, you can also give information through ebooks, guides, white pages, case studies, and reports. Those are fantastic value-adds that build trust with your prospects and gain you leads \u2013 otherwise known as <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/creating-lead-generation-offers-from-blogs\">lead magnets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a><\/a> <\/p>\n<h3>6. Arrange giveaways.<\/h3>\n<p>According to O\u2019Brien, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/instagram-giveaway\">giveaways<\/a> are a powerful tool to sweeten the deal and incentivize prospects to convert or purchase. The best part? They don\u2019t have to cost you anything.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA common misconception is that you need a big budget to run giveaways. If cash is tight, companies can run giveaways with goods or services already in their possession,\u201d she says. \u201cFor example, one hour of your time to provide consulting services in your area of expertise or a free trial of your services.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/katey-gold-22083443\/\">Katey Gold<\/a>, senior partner marketing manager at HubSpot, echoes this and adds that it all comes down to how you package it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re asking your customer to take action to receive something, look at how you\u2019re asking,\u201d says Gold. \u201cYou need to make sure the customer believes they\u2019re getting a sweet deal and not simply filling in another form to receive a gift that is available to all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a> <\/p>\n<h3>7. Encourage user-generated content.<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/user-generated-content-stats\">UGC<\/a> is one of the best gifts a brand can get. Why? It serves as social proof, it\u2019s reusable, and it can require little effort on your part.<\/p>\n<p>UGC can look like:<\/p>\n<p> A video testimonial from a customer<br \/>\n A social media post from a customer<br \/>\n A feature on a blogger\u2019s or influencer\u2019s website <\/p>\n<p>With everyone having a phone with a camera and a microphone at their fingertips, user-generated content like customer testimonials no longer require a budget, says O\u2019Brien.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdding testimonials from real customers can add credibility to your marketing and provide social proof that customers are happy with your offering,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n<p>Gold recommends thinking about how to incentivize your customers to create this content that will serve your company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile offering gift cards or swag usually does the trick, it&#8217;s worth thinking long-term,\u201d she says. \u201cHow can you incentivize customers without having to spend money? It may be as simple as sharing a customer\u2019s review on social media while tagging them in the post &#8211; you get UGC, while the customer gets recognition from your followers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can also leverage user-generated content as part of a larger campaign.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Lay&#8217;s has done a &#8220;Do Us a Flavor&#8221; campaign for years, where its audience submits new chip flavor ideas. It\u2019s fun, engaging, and builds more visibility for the brand.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a> <\/p>\n<h3>8. Host a webinar.<\/h3>\n<p>Inbound marketing is all about using helpful tactics to solve your audience&#8217;s problems and attract leads to your company. One way to do this is through <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/are-webinars-dead-how-to-make-a-webinar\">webinars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWebinars are a great (and cheap) way to educate your customers across various stages of the funnel,\u201d says Apaydin. \u201cThey require little to no financial investment and can often be hosted by your team as subject matter experts\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Behrooz says there\u2019s one thing you should keep in mind when hosting one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don&#8217;t want your webinar to be a sales pitch, you want your webinar to be something that&#8217;s educational,\u201d says Behrooz. \u201c[Otherwise], your audience will lose engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apaydin echoes this sentiment and recommends starting with a problem your customers are facing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPanel discussions featuring your customers and\/or partners help drive more interest in the event and also make it more engaging,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, you can use webinars to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hubspot.com\/products\/marketing\/email\">gather leads and build your email list<\/a>. It\u2019s a win all around.<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a> <\/p>\n<h3>9. Invest in SEO.<\/h3>\n<p>Want your audience to find you organically without paying for ads? Then you need to invest in your<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/seo\"> SEO strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hubspot.com\/products\/marketing\/seo\">Building an SEO strategy<\/a> can seem daunting but one way to simplify it is by focusing on two things: Your audience and Google.<\/p>\n<p>The former because you\u2019ll need to know which keywords to target to make sure you\u2019re showing up when your audience is searching for you. You can use several tactics with a tighter budget.
